Adamas International Film Festival 15th to 18th April 2021

AIFF: A Dream Actualized

Adamas International Film Festival (AIFF), 2021 is a culmination of dreams, love, and appreciation for films and the art of filmmaking. It is a platform where motivation runs high for budding filmmakers to create and to showcase their work and contributions.

“Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail,” said Ralph Waldo Emerson. Taking inspiration from Emerson’s words, AIFF embarked on a journey to create a platform for the glocal audience.

Before the launch of AIFF, Adamas University has been actively participating in film festivals and won prestigious awards and accolades. Some of the acclaimed creations of AU included Pronoyoni, Sadak, Shanti Niketan: The Land of Tagore, and Recess.

Advancing the journey of cinematic excellence of Bengal, AU has stepped on the path to creating a platform where love for and creation of cinematic experience converge. AIFF, the manifestation of this dream ignites creative passion, expression, and imagination. We welcome you to be a part of this cinematic movement, enjoy and craft the nuanced art of storytelling in motion.

At AU, mentors with extensive experience in academia and the movie industry guide the students with insights. If you wish to be a part of this creative heaven and collaborate with our students to build something new, AIFF is your stage for your introduction to our ecosystem.

Welcome to AIFF, 2021.

The School of Media and Communication(SOMC) in collaboration with Adamas University’s film club – “Kissewala” is organizing this film festival with extensive support and guidance from talented professionals and film industry experts.

AIFF is keen to witness the spectacle of close bonding between industry and academia.

You also get a chance to showcase your dreams and aspirations globally.

Goals of AIFF

“Dream is not that which you see while sleeping it is something that does not let you sleep.”

 – A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India

AIFF is steadfastly pursuing its goals: to visualize and to create an ecosystem to experience the rich art of cinema. Filmmakers, on this platform, will showcase their creative content. Recognition and appreciation will be on offer.

In the globalized world, where civilizations increasingly join hands together – in war, peace, and pandemic – AIFF firmly believes that films can bridge values, cultures, and humans. Cinematic experiences can create a universal creative involvement of both the fresh eyes of the public and experienced one of the industry professionals.

AIFF will hold interactive sessions, e.g., masterclasses and panel discussions with industry stalwarts to impart insightful knowledge to young enthusiasts and budding filmmakers. This film festival will open the gateway for dialogue, discussion, and brainstorming. The creativity that inspires exploration will prove to be a soul-searching experience for the participants.

Finally, we intend to send the message that film and film-makers can make a positive and transformative impact on society and its people.
