DEPARTMENT OF JOURNALISM AND MASS COMMUNICATION

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication ((Earlier as Department of Media and Communication) has been created to produce industry-ready professionals, who are proficient with the art of media storytelling. The department plays a significant role in being a gateway to the exciting and evolving world of media, communication and entertainment. The department has a practical approach and it teaches one to think like a media professional and analyze and critique the larger media and entertainment ecosystem. Convergence and multimediality constitute the twin approaches that mark the conduction of programmes at the department. Platform-agnostic storytelling, media ethics and media entrepreneurship form the guiding rocks of all the programmes conducted by the department.

Our Mission

  1. Create socially conscious and industry-ready media professionals through a convergent and ethically oriented education and an organically developed and relevant curriculum.
  2. Develop and augment skills pertaining to innovation, analysis, ethics and entrepreneurship among the media professionals of tomorrow.
