Buroshiva Dasgupta is both a media professional and a media educator for over four decades. He has worked with national dailies like The Statesman, The Economic Times and the The Financial Express and has also headed media departments in universities like Manipal in Karnataka, Karnavati in Gujarat and Brainware and Sister Nivedita in West Bengal. As a journalist, he has written extensively and produced television programmes on topics ranging from politics, social science and environment. As an academic, he has written and edited books on media, society and environmental science. He has published academic articles in peer reviewed journals; has conducted UGC refresher courses for teachers and has been a Ph.D. guide. He did his Masters from Presidency College, Kolkata and was awarded a Ph.D. from Calcutta University. He has lectured in universities in the US, Africa and Singapore. He is a wildlife enthusiast and has travelled all the continents.
